Creative Expression
Chamberlain offers students instruction in Art, Music and Drama because we believe all adolescents thrive within a program that includes opportunities to engage in creative expression. Through creative arts, students are able to find alternative means for expressing personal views.
Art
Chamberlain offers art instruction to all students at our art studio. The focus of this course is to teach the students to use a variety of materials, media and techniques. Through participation in this course the students begin to understand how to use them to produce different visual effects.
In addition to the basic course, those students with an expressed interest or special talent are offered an advanced course through our Enrichment Program.
Faculty Spotlight: Alan Iveson |
Alan IvesonART TEACHER “Art is a powerful channel for the expression of human emotions. This is why it plays such an important role in Chamberlain’s curriculum. I feel that it is essential for students at Chamberlain to feel good about themselves. Through the art program I look at each student’s inate abilities, their skills, and talents, their unique strengths and interests. At every opportunity, no matter how basic, we have to encourage students to taste success and experience the feeling of ‘I can do it’." |
