Testimonials

Chamberlain International School has provided my child with interventions and services that have addressed his complex mental health needs in a setting that is supervised and responsive to his individualized social, emotional and academic goals.  Experienced administrators and staff have responsibly cared for my child and offered a multitude of community and enrichment opportunities that have allowed him to grow and thrive in ways not previously possible. He has developed his awareness of how to meet challenges and build on strengths. We couldn’t be more optimistic about our student’s future!

-- Sylvia G., CA - Current Parent (2020)

Our daughter has been a student at The Chamberlain International School for the past three years. As a family, we cannot say enough good things about the staff at the school- from clinicians, administrators, teachers, house staff, and all on down the line.
The amount of care, respect, teaching and safety they provide has been extraordinary.
We have seen steady, small growth in our daughter over time.
We are grateful to all at Chamberlain who contribute to our daughter's growth, development and safety.

-- Parent of a senior, February 2020

“We chose Chamberlain for several reasons: therapeutic programming, an individualized approach to academics, experienced staff and a community-based residence experience. Time and time again, we are impressed by the professionalism, expertise and level of care demonstrated by Chamberlain staff as they bring it all together and make it all happen. They just get it. So often, we find ourselves affirming our choice and saying, “THAT’S why we chose Chamberlain!”

-- Parents, February 2020

I am so grateful that my son has found his niche at Chamberlain, particularly in the Aviation Program. The Aviation Program has affected positively in his self-esteem and given him a renewed sense of wonder. He is so excited to be a part of something which is typically not attainable for most teens, which boosts his self-image. He looks forward to learning the mechanical, technical and manual aspects of Aviation, as he plans to attend a college that is technology and engineering focused. He looks to the future in the development and specialization in futuristic motor designs.

We wish we had known or have had access to Chamberlain (5) years ago when the first real major issues started with our daughter.  It has been a long and difficult process for us, especially our daughter.  As I know, many parents for children that have difficulties in many avenues of life have experienced the in and out of many different facilities time after time.  This is detrimental to the success of anyone.

From our very first contact with the Admissions Department to our call last night with house staff makes us truly appreciate what Chamberlain offers our daughter.  Most of all, we know that she is in a safe and truly caring enviornment.  EVERYONE is commited to each of the students.  It is truly evident when you watch the students interaction with staff.  Unfortunately, our daughter is not easy to please and she found her happiness in CHAMBERLAIN.   Our daughter (and us) are truly blessed to have such a supportive team through all of her difficulties.  Everyone continues to try to help her in everyway possible.  For whatever reason your child comes to Chamberlain; we feel that they are there to offer what no other placement can provide.  We don't like to think about what would have happened if we never found Chamberlain.  We ask that Chamberlain continue to provide the excellent services and support that our children so desparately need.

Our experience during Parents' Weekend at Chamberlain International School turned out to be an amazing one.  This was by far the most positive school experience ever.  The staff and peaceful enviornment has postively shaped and affected not only my child but the entire family....As soon as we walked in we were all welcome with open arms.  The treatment and acceptance that we got was unlike any other school.  The staff is so friendly, inviting and so helpful.  We feel blessed to be part of The Chamberlain International School and we are looking forward to an incredible school year.

The most important part of attending the parents' weekend for me was to meet those who have been working with my son who has been at Chamberlain since May...I was impressed with the staff who run his residence and the residence as well.  The house was quiet and the house manager gave me the calming sense that she had a good handle on how to run an effective enviornment for the struggling teenage boy....I was equally impressed with my son's advocate and the administrators and the teachers are extraordinary!  They clearly go above and beyond when working with the students.  There is comfort in knowing that many of the people who work at Chamberlain have been there for many years and in many I saw a passion for what they do. It is so difficult to place our children out of our homes and we need to know that if we have to send them to another enviornment that they are with people who care...I left Chamberlain feeling more hopeful for my son and his future.

---Laura H., Parent, October 2015

Chamberlain provides the structure, supervision, and support which my son needs to move forward in life. At Chamberlain, my son has developed a balanced and healthy lifestyle; and thereby progressed academically, socially, and athletically.

My son has learned to take responsibility for his actions and to make better decisions.

The Administration, Faculty, and Staff are sincere and attentive to the needs and goals of each student; and are available to work with the concerns of the parents.
We are thankful to this special school.

--Parent of 17 year old student

Great Event Saturday.  In speaking to several parents, we all walked away with a better sense of what Chamberlain is trying to accomplish and are grateful our kids are at such a great school with a terrific group of caring and dedicated professionals.

-- Parent. October 2015

My son's smile says it all.  Thank you for everything you did to help him get to this day, transitioning back to his high school.  He is doing great at home and was elected by his peers to be Captain of the Freshman Football Team!

--Parent of recently transitioned student

Chamberlain was a life saver therapeutically and academically for the three years she was there...we really feel now leaving with what she has been taught at FLC is giving her the coping strategies to transition.

--Parent of 2015 Graduate

Our 15 year old son has been attending Chamberlain since May, 2014.  It has been a wonderful experience for him and for us.   The teachers and staff are smart, thoughtful, kind people and work with each child as an individual.  It’s also wonderful for him to now have a peer group with which to engage in activities, all in a supervised, safe environment.    As parents, it makes us so happy to see our son happy and growing in a positive direction.

-- John and Tricia, Parents

Our son considers Chamberlain his "home" and his other home where he is from is considered his "vacation" home; that's how comfortable he is with the entire Chamberlain experience. The staff is warm, approachable and allows us to work in partnership. From outings including sporting events, concerts, movies and trips to cultural institutions, Chamberlain provides a balance of fun learning experiences, and exposure to the rich New England community.

 ---Sharon, Parent

Our son has been at Chamberlain for about 2 months.  We have noticed a change in him.  He seems more calm and content.  Our son has always had a problem interacting with his peers.  At Chamberlain, he has no choice, he has to interact with them.  But, more importantly, I think he has found that he is not that different from the other students so he is able to learn how to interact socially with his peer group with the hope of eventually making friends.

Thank you cannot begin to espress the depth of our appreciation for all you and your staff at Chamberlain School have done for Erin and our family.  Her attendance at Chamberlain changed Erin's life and that of our family.

I am sure you understand the difficulties facing the students and families you serve,  because Chamberlain has an amazing, well planned program.  Erin and our family were sinking before she came to Chamberlain.  At fifteen her ability to learn both academically and socially was so limited that it seemed insurmountable.  I was fearful that my child's future would be severely limited: but Chamberlain has changed that belief: because of Chamberlain, Erin will have a future.  She has demonstrated amazing growth that we know will continue in a positive manner she has the ability with continued supports to build herself a wonderful life, one enriched with friends and family.

Despite her many barriers to growth and success, The Chamberlain staff always saw her potential and never stopped giving her their best.  I want to thank all the Chamberlain staff for doing so much for Erin and our family.

Thanks to all of you for helping my son so much over the last three years.  He is a very different person, and all of the changes are to his benefit and developmentally appropriate.

--Parent

Thank you so much to everyone, clinical, residential, teaching staff...everyone.  The collaboration, the energy you put into identifying my sons indvidual needs, the creative thinking to balance consequence and reward, and the care taken for his self esteem and motivation...you all overwhelm us.

--Parent

I thought it would be appropriate that today would be a good day to thank you for all the years of love, support, and patience you have shown over the years for Andrew and me.  This Saturday he will be graduating from Norwich University with a BS in Mechanical Engineering.  He has done far better than anyone would have guessed 10 years ago.  In fact, he is graduating with a 3.0 GPA.  You played a big role in the process at some point and deserve to be proud too.  I know you have had some tough times over the years with one or both of us, and at times thought of giving up, be thankful you did not.  We are so happy you made the right choice.  The fact that you continued to hang in there has resulted in the outcome that we will see when his is awarded his "pinky ring' as part of the Order of Engineers and his diploma in his Captains uniform as part of the Corps of Cadets.....I understand you have not seen him in a long time, but you should know that your efforts and support expressed to both of us over the long journey have resulted in a truly amazing young man, one that will go on to give back to his community, much like you have done for him.
