A Grand Canyon Trip is tentatively scheduled for May 10-14thPlease RSVP to Michelle Hunt no later than April 14th if you are interested in having your child attend.  Our ability to conduct this trip will be dependant on having enough interested students.  The cost of this trip is projected to be approximately $1,100.

A Bermuda Trip is scheduled for June 7th- 14th.  There are currently only four slots remaining on this trip.  Please contact Michelle Hunt if you are interested in having your child attend.  This is a wonderful opportunity for students to study along side world class oceanographers as they study the ocean and ecosystems of Bermuda.  The cost of the trip is $3,000.

Twice a year F L Chamberlain School offers a group of students a truly unique educational experience in Marine Biology and Oceanography. Those students participating in the program begin their studies on the Chamberlain campus prior to their departure to the official overseas territory of Great Britain, – the island of Bermuda. Once on the island, the students along with the staff, stay at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Science (BIOS) located in Ferry Reach in the Parish of St. George’s. BIOS was established in 1903 and is one of only a few “blue water oceanographic centers in the world where scientific experiments can be carried out on the ocean and with its inhabitants without the variable of mainland anthropogenic pollutants influencing results”. On June 10th, seven Chamberlain students and three staff set forth on the trip of a lifetime to the island of Bermuda.  The group included Whitney G., Rob G., Peter F., Allegra R., Jen R. and Matt V. for students.  The students were chaperoned by Chamberlain staff members, Michelle Hunt, Scott Davignon and Barit White, R.N..  Everyone had high hopes of seeing exotic sea life and learning about their habitats.
 
The Chamberlain School offers this trip to Bermuda two times a year.  Those who participate in this trip, are exposed to various Ocean Study groups on campus before they leave and while in Bermuda. Read the rest of this entry »
